    • Cyber Safety Talk<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>Following the recent Cyber Safety evening provided for parents in November, the P.A. have arranged a follow-up event following interest & requests from parents. This will take place on Wed. 21st<\/sup> January @ 8pm in the school hall, with additional guest speakers present on the night. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      • Grandparents Mass\/Day:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> As part of Catholic Schools Week, the mass for grandparents of children in the Sacrament classes (2nd<\/sup> & 6th<\/sup> Class) is at 11:30am on Wed. 21st<\/sup> January, in Faithlegg Church. Grandparents of all the children in those classes are invited to the school after at approx. 12:20pm for tea\/coffee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        • Painting\/Spraying<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The pebble-dash walls at the back of the school will be sprayed\/cleaned over the Easter holidays.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          • Code of Behaviour<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board of Management reviewed and ratified the Code of Behaviour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            • Sacraments<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The children, choir, parents, teachers\/staff, and Fr. Breen were all thanked for their contribution in preparing for the recent Communion & Confirmation celebration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Croke Park<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board were informed of the breakdown of compulsory Croke Park hours completed by staff in the school, and the many extra additional hours also carried out. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Standardised Tests<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>the overall results of the school versus the national average were presented to the Board, and it was discussed as to how this information will be used to assist our teaching going forward. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Class Allocations:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <\/strong>The Class Allocations were outlined for the next school year. Ms. MacNamara has been appointed on a permanent basis (CID), and interviews will be held for our additional S.E.T\/EAL teacher over the summer. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • CASWS:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The school have made an application for upgrade work as part of the Climate Action Summer Works Scheme.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • B\u00ed Cine\u00e1lta:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> Following questionnaire consultation with students, staff & parents, the B\u00ed Cine\u00e1lta policy was approved by the Board for 2025\/26. This will be reviewed annually. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Parents Association:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The P.A. and the whole school community were thanked for their contribution & support throughout the entire school year, and particularly during the hectic final term. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Graduation:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Mass & Ceremony for 6th<\/sup> Class will take place on Mon. 20th<\/sup>June in the halla. All the outgoing students & families were commended for their great contribution to the school over their time in Faithlegg N.S.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

              Board of Management Meeting 21\/01\/2025 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

              \u2022 Assistant Principal 2 Vacancy<\/em>: <\/strong>The Board of Management discussed the vacancy, and the process of identifying the Roles & Responsibilities attached to it. This post will be advertised later this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \u2022 Septic Tank – Percolation Area<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The school had an issue with the Percolation\/Soak-Away area in November. This was promptly resolved, but an additional long-term solution of connection to the Cheekpoint Sewage Scheme was identified as necessary for the future. Steps towards achieving this recommended solution will be worked on in the meantime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \u2022 Modern Foreign Languages<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board were updated on the upcoming French lessons for 3rd \u2013 6th Class, as part of the \u2018Say Yes to Languages\u2019 programme. This is in line with the upcoming changes to the new Curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \u2022 Policy Review<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board of Management reviewed the English Literacy, Acceptable Usage, and Swimming Policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              • Child Protection Review<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board of Management reviewed and amended the Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment. This was agreed and approved for the school year ahead. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                • Admission Applications<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The window for Junior Infant Admission Applications for 2024\/25 will open on October 1st<\/sup>, and the deadline for accepting applications is October 31st<\/sup>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                  • Music Generation:<\/em><\/strong> After a successful application, Music Generation will provide Ukulele lessons for 3rd<\/sup> \u2013 6th<\/sup> Class on Fridays. It is a fantastic opportunity for the children. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                    • B\u00ed Cine\u00e1lta<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board were updated on the recent publication of the B\u00ed Cine\u00e1lta \u2018Procedures to Prevent & Address Bullying.\u2019 It will come into effect for the 2025\/26 school year, and Information Seminars will be provided for staff & parents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                      • Communication Policy<\/em>: <\/strong>The Board of Management approved & ratified a new School Communication Policy. The P.A. have been consulted on this, & it will be sent to parents next week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                        • Erasmus Mobility – Catalonia<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board were updated on the success of the mobility to Catalonia last week, and also thanked the staff that accompanying the students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • Erasmus Mobility – Hosting<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board were reminded of the school hosting a return visit from our Catalonian partners. This will be from 20th<\/sup> \u2013 24th<\/sup> May, and will involve welcoming the students and teachers to our school to work on activities related to the project throughout the week. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • Golf Classic<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The rescheduled Golf Classic, to help fund the Smartboards that were purchased last year, will take place on Friday 26th<\/sup> April. The Golf Classic Committee were thanked for their continued efforts, and so too were all the sponsors that have already supported it. There is a raffle organised to take place on the night, and parents of the school community are invited to the Golf Club on the night in question for the raffle and a social night.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • Solar Panels \u2013 Schools PV Programme<\/strong>:<\/em><\/strong> As part of the Schools PV Programme, the school have been approved funding to have Solar Panels installed in the near future. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • Internet Safety:<\/em><\/strong> The school have scheduled a visit from a Community Garda to deliver a programme on Internet\/Cyber Safety to the children in the school. This will take place in two weeks\u2019 time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • Water Safety:<\/em><\/strong> Visits from both Water Safety Ireland and the local RNLI Coast Guard have been arranged for the end of April\/beginning of May, to speak to all students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • Induction Day:<\/em><\/strong> The Induction Day for the incoming Junior Infants and their parents has been arranged for Tuesday 30th<\/sup> April. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        • Pedestrian Crossing:<\/em><\/strong> The ESB have said they are hoping to connect up the Pedestrian Crossing lights at the beginning of May.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                          • Golf Classic Fundraiser<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>Due to poor weather, the Interactive Smartboard Golf Classic fundraiser was postponed to Friday 26th<\/sup> April. Thanks again to the organising Committee.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • Gen-Free Charter<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The data gathered from the sign-up form sent to parents after the October mid-term has been communicated to organisers within the county, and feedback was very positive. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • Schools Photovoltaic Programme (Solar Panels)<\/u><\/strong>: <\/strong>Schools within the county have been included in the first phase of the programme. This will potentially fund up to 6 kW of roof-mounted solar PV, including connection to the grid and a monitoring system & display screen for the school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • Anti-Bullying Review<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board of Management reviewed and ratified the Anti-Bullying Policy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • Parents Association:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Board thanked the Parents Association for their work in organising the Halloween Disco, and Faithlegg Hotel were also thanked for providing the venue on the night. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • Christmas Holidays:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The school will close on Friday 22nd<\/sup> December at 12pm, & re-open on Monday 8th<\/sup> January.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                          • Merry Christmas:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Board would like to wish all students, staff and families a very safe and happy Christmas.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                            • The Board of Management thanked the current serving members for their voluntary time and contribution in supporting the school over the past four years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • Child Protection Review<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board of Management reviewed and amended the Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment. This was agreed and approved for the school year ahead.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Due to the course being closed, the Golf Classic has since been postponed to Friday 26th<\/sup> April.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • Erasmus<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>An Information Night for parents of children traveling on the upcoming mobility was held in the school on the 9th<\/sup> October. There was an update on the ongoing project work, and the proposed staff cover for the week of the mobility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                            • Gen Free Initiative:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Board discussed the \u2018Gen Free Initiative,\u2019 which is the result of a collaboration between Waterford primary schools and the children\u2019s charity, Barnardos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                              This is a voluntary initiative for parents, which involves: No smartphones while in primary school; No social media while in primary school and respect the age ratings on video games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              This will be communicated to parents in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                              • 4th<\/sup> Class Teacher<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board wished Mr. Stone well following his recent appointment. He has replaced Ms. Jones as 4th<\/sup> Class Teacher for the duration of her maternity leave.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                              • Erasmus Accreditation<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board were notified of the school\u2019s successful application for Erasmus Accreditation. This will hopefully provide further opportunities to engage with future Erasmus projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                              • Pedestrian Crossing<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>A recent update from Waterford Council was shared. It has stated that the planned Pedestrian Crossing outside the school will be fully operational by the start of the new school year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                              • Wellbeing Books:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The recent purchase of a set of books around themes of inclusion, diversity & wellbeing was discussed. These will help highlight the importance of such topics to students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                              • Primary Language Curriculum Day:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> A school closure was outlined for June 2nd<\/sup>, this facilitates in-school training for staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                              • Student Council:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Student Council, in conjunction with Mrs. Fahy and 6th<\/sup> Class, were acknowledged for organising and co-ordinating of the recent Easter Egg Hunt in the school.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                              • Parents Association:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Board thanked the Parents Association for their contribution to gymnastics with Tanya, and their efforts in organising the recent Table Quiz and Easter Raffle. Those who donated prizes & took part were also thanked. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                              • Faithlegg House Hotel \u2013<\/u><\/em><\/strong> <\/u><\/em><\/strong>GAA Jerseys & Kit:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Board were presented with the new set of GAA jerseys, socks & shorts, which were kindly sponsored by Faithlegg House Hotel. Their continued support is much appreciated by all.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n

                                • Condolences<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: On behalf of the whole school community (the Board, staff and students) we offered our condolences to a current board member,  past teacher & vice principal Elizabeth Ferguson on the recent death of her husband Edward.                                   • Primary Language Curriculum<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board were updated on the recent in-service PDST Primary Language Curriculum support day.  <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  • Student Council<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Student Council and the 6th<\/sup> Class students were thanked for their help in running a \u2018Christmas Day\u2019 for other classes in the school in December. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  • Credit Union Quiz<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board acknowledged all those who took part in the Credit Union quiz, and congratulated our winning team. All those who represented the school in the Munster Swimming Gala were also commended. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  • Quiet Room<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>Our new Quiet Room\/Relaxation Room has been completed in the school, and is now ready for use. Consent will be sought from the parent\/guardian of any child that may use the room. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  • Parents Association:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> The Board thanked the Parents Association for their contribution towards the ongoing swimming lessons in Faithlegg Hotel. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                  • Mass with Grandparents:<\/u><\/em><\/strong> Fr. Breen & all the grandparents were thanked for the recent \u2018Mass with Grandparents\u2019 that took place as part of Catholic Schools Week. All agreed it was a lovely occasion, and one we hope to continue in the future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                                    • Admissions Statement<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board made subsequent changes to our Admission Statement, following the recent mandatory Commencement of the Education Act 2022 (Provision in respect of Children with SEN). <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                    • Interactive Screens\/Whiteboards<\/u><\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>As recommended, two new 75\u201d ActivPanels were installed in 5th<\/sup> & 6th<\/sup> Class. It was agreed that they are a fantastic resource, and the aim is to equip other classes with them in the future with the support of the P.A. <\/li>\n\n\n\n

                                      • Kater 4 Kidz<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board were informed of the positive feedback in relation to the ongoing cooking programme for 4th<\/sup>, 5th<\/sup> and 6th<\/sup> Class. It was agreed that it has been a fantastic opportunity and learning experience for all students involved.  <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                      • Fibre Wifi<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board received an update from the Dept. of Education\u2019s Broadband section. The school is scheduled to be connected to the newly available fibre broadband in the area in the near future. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                                        Parents Association:<\/em><\/strong> Claire Coleman was thanked for her contribution and efforts throughout her term as Chairperson of the Parents Association. The process of appointing her successor is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                        • Confirmation<\/em>: <\/strong>The children, choir, parents, Mrs. Fahy and Fr. Power were all thanked for their contribution in preparing for the recent Confirmation celebration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                        • Patricia\u2019s Garden<\/em>: <\/strong>Jimmy, Fr. Power, and Patricia Doherty\u2019s family & friends were commended for their input in creating a lovely garden ceremony in her memory. Ar Dheis D\u00e9 go raibh a hAnam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

The children, staff, parents and local community were recognised for their generosity and hospitality. It was agreed that the project was of great benefit to the school, and would be strongly considered again in the future, should the correct opportunity arise. <\/li>\n\n\n\n

                                          Board of Management Meeting 05\/04\/2022<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                                          Agreed Report<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 Covid-19<\/strong>: The Board of Management again thanked the whole school community for their continued cooperation and diligence with Covid-19 guidelines. After the easing of restrictions on February 28th<\/sup>, hand sanitising is still ongoing in the school, masks are no longer a requirement but many are still choosing to wear them, and windows and doors are still being opened to allow for ventilation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 Break times<\/strong>: Staggered break times are still currently in place in the school (junior & senior), and staff will review this after Easter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 Erasmus<\/strong>: Staff were thanked for their additional work and commitment in planning & preparing for the recent Erasmus trip to Spain. Students from 5th<\/sup> & 6th<\/sup> Class were acknowledged for their exemplary behaviour throughout, those who were fortunate enough to get to travel and those who stayed behind in school for the week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          The Board expressed sympathy for those who unfortunately didn\u2019t get the opportunity to travel, and to those who had to juggle delayed passport arrivals and antigen testing. Parents were also thanked for their cooperation & understanding throughout the process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 Walk for Ukraine<\/strong>: The Board of Management were informed of the upcoming Sponsored Walk in aid of Ukraine, which will take place on Friday 8th<\/sup> April, organised in conjunction with the Parents\u2019 Association. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 E.S.B. Pedestrian Crossing<\/strong>: The E.S.B. have had to alter original plans to supply power to the pedestrian crossing near the school gate, by changing a wooden pole to a steel pole. As a result, there will be a delay as the design plans are changed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 School Phone<\/strong>: The Board approved the retention of a school mobile phone, which was used on a trial basis for the recent Erasmus trip. This will be used for school outings, matches, tours, photos etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 Zeeko<\/strong>: The Board of Management were updated on the recent Internet Safety talks they funded in the school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          1st<\/sup> \u2013 6th<\/sup> Class received talks and presentations from an Internet Safety speaker on the day, and the importance of the topic was again emphasised by the Board. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 C<\/strong>PR Course<\/strong>: The Board expressed their appreciation for Clive O\u2019Regan delivering a recent CPR and Defibrillator Course in the school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 Guest Speakers<\/strong>: The Board also thanked Damien McLellan, Andrew Doherty and Gr\u00e1ainne Keating for their recent visits to the school to speak about the Camino and James Rice with 5th<\/sup> & 6th<\/sup> Class. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          \u2022 School Activities<\/strong>: In light of the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, many activities have returned\/are returning to the school, such as orienteering, gymnastics, Little Red Kettle, tag rugby, hurling and an upcoming series of organised art classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                                          • Covid-19<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>The Board of Management thanked the school community for their continued diligence and compliance with the guidelines and restrictions that remain in place. Further guidance will be issued to schools in advance of February 28th<\/sup>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                          • CO2 Monitors<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>CO2 monitors remain in place in every classroom in the school to ensure adequate ventilation and air quality in each room.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                                              • GIY and RT\u00c9<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>the school were thanked by GIY and RT\u00c9 who recently visited to launch \u2018The Big Grow\u2019 initiative. They were really impressed with the school garden, and the children from whom they received a warm welcome. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                              • iPads<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>10 new iPads have been purchased for the school, to be used specifically for Learning Support. <\/strong>The Board thanked the Parents\u2019 Association for their contribution to the purchase of these. <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                              • Library<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>the Board acknowledged the work by those involved in getting the School Library up and running again. <\/strong>Thanks to the 6th<\/sup> Class students who have helped with this. The children have really enjoyed visiting the library in their pods, particularly the younger children who may not have had the chance before. We look forward to welcoming parental involvement back with the library as soon as permitted. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                              • Internet Safety<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>the Board of Management have agreed to fund the Internet Safety talks\/lessons, which will be given by Zeeko, from 3rd<\/sup>-6th<\/sup> Class at the end of March. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                              • Uniforms:<\/em><\/strong> After much consideration and a lengthy discussion, the Board of Management decided to maintain the current arrangement of uniform and tracksuit in the school. Junior and Senior Infants will continue to be permitted to wear the school tracksuit for the school week, and 1st<\/sup> \u2013 6th<\/sup> Class will continue with the \u20183 and 2\u2019 schedule currently in place \u2013 3 days uniform (Mon \u2013 Wed), and 2 days tracksuit (Thurs & Friday).
                                                In the interest of cost effectiveness and the ever increasing cost of living, the Board of Management undertook a price analysis, and each tracksuit quoted cost considerably more than that of available uniforms. The tracksuit only, as proposed by some parents,  would prove to be an expensive & unfair burden. It was also agreed that the school crest is not a requirement on the school uniform &\/or tracksuit. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
                                              • First-Aid<\/em><\/strong>: <\/strong>the staff will receive a First-Aid talk in the coming weeks. <\/strong>A group of staff members have also volunteered to undertake a certified 4-hour CFR Course on a Saturday morning in the next month. A date is being agreed upon, and we would like to extend an invitation to any member of the community who would also be interested in joining. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u00b7      Mr. O\u2019Sullivan thanked the students, parents and staff for their kind words and messages, as well as the effort they have made in helping him settle into his new role.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u00b7      Charitable donations<\/u><\/em>: The Board of Management would like to thank the school community who made a fantastic effort for the Christmas Shoe Box Appeal and the Crumlin Christmas Jumper Day respectively. Over 100 boxes were contributed, and \u20ac400 donated to two great charities.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u00b7      Christmas Raffle<\/u><\/em>: The Board of Management would also like to thank the Parents\u2019 Association who are kindly organising the Christmas Raffle again this year, as well as everyone who has contributed and donated prizes.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u00b7      Christmas Performances<\/u><\/em>: due to the restrictions that remain in place, each class are going to perform and record something Festive which will be emailed home for families to view.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u00b7      An Post<\/u><\/em>: Cards containing messages of goodwill are being created by the children before Christmas, and \u2018An Post\u2019 will allow the freepost of these to Nursing Home and Care Home residents.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u00b7      Christmas Door Design<\/u><\/em>: each classroom door is being given a makeover for the Christmas period, and pictures of these will be shared for viewing on the website.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u00b7      First-Aid<\/u><\/em>: the staff have committed to undertaking a First-Aid refresher course, and this will be completed when possible in early 2022.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u00b7      Library<\/u><\/em>: the library is a fantastic resource for the school, and will be up and running again in January to allow children the opportunity to avail of it. This will be done in a different capacity for now, spread out over the course of the week, in class & pod groupings to adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines. It will return to being run in its original capacity as soon as permitted thereafter.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                                                Mr. Hannon informed the Board that he would be resigning from his post in Faithlegg NS to take up the Principal\u2019s position in a school in West Waterford. He thanked the Board, Staff, Parents and pupils for the fond memories he would be leaving Faithlegg with.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                                                School garden: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                                                Plans are underway to create a school garden in memory of Patricia Doherty. The garden will be located to the front of the school near the greenhouse. Malachy Doherty has agreed to assist with the design and advise on which plant and flowers would be suitable. Malachy has also arranged sponsorship for 100 euro worth of bulbs from the Glanbia CountryLife store in Dungarvan where he works. The garden will have a bench with a commemorative plaque to honour the contribution Patricia made to Faithlegg N.S.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                                                Music\/Library\/Activities: <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                                                It is hoped to see the return of the school library and some other events such as music lessons following the October 22nd easing of Covid 19 restrictions. This will all be done in adherence to the latest guidance which we await from the Department of Education. <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                                                School Crossing
                                                The Board discussed the concerns parents had raised regarding safety
                                                for children and adults when crossing the road in front of the school due
                                                to traffic and the speed at which cars drive past. The submissions from
                                                the Board of Management and the community groups were discussed
                                                and all agreed that appropriate signage and speed limits were of utmost
                                                importance. The need for the crossing to be constructed over the
                                                summer was discussed also and it was felt having this completed prior
                                                to the return to school August 30th would not only make sense but be
                                                necessary to facilitate a safe return to school. 
                                                Exemption from Irish & Substance misuse Policies
                                                Both policies were ratified by the Board<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                                                School bus
                                                The organisation of a bus for the school community was discussed and
                                                progress is being made in this regard. It is hoped that following early
                                                soundings, a bus service could return to the school for the coming
                                                school year.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                                                School uniform
                                                The Board agreed that the return to school in August should see the
                                                return to the school uniform on non P.E days and school tracksuit on P.E
                                                or sports days which has been a long standing arrangement in the
                                                school.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                                                \u25cf The Board of Management would like to thank the Parents\u2019
                                                Association for their successful fundraising efforts before the
                                                Easter break. The raffle raised \u20ac1183.Thanks to all
                                                involved-organisers, supporters and our special guest the
                                                Easter Bunny for their commitment to the school!
                                                \u25cf The Board of Management ratified the Managing Chronic
                                                Conditions policy
                                                \u25cf Safety at drop off and pick up times: In the interests of
                                                safety, all members of the school community are reminded of
                                                the parking protocol and adhering to drop off and collection
                                                times.
                                                \u25cf Traffic lights: It is hoped to have a safe crossing point in front
                                                of the school for the beginning of the next school year. There
                                                will be a set of traffic lights and a crossing point installed
                                                which will not only make it safer for drop off and collection
                                                but will hopefully encourage more children and parents to
                                                walk to school on fine days.
                                                \u25cf The Board agreed to give the go ahead to gaelic football
                                                coaching in school. Our Games development Officer David
                                                Robinson is working on a timetable for May and we will let
                                                you know when this is finalised.
                                                \u25cf We received thank you letters from GOAL and Saint Vincent
                                                de Paul following our recent fundraising events. \u20ac424 was
                                                raised for GOAL through our jersey day and \u20ac1,052.90 was
                                                raised for Saint Vincent de Paul at Christmas. Thank you all
                                                so much for your amazing support.
                                                \u25cf It is hoped that children will be able to go on nature walks
                                                now that the weather has improved. It will be great to see the
                                                children learning about the local environment.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
